JOINT EFFORT FOR ELIMINATION OF TUBERCULOSIS (JEET)
The Joint Effort for Elimination of Tuberculosis (JEET) is a project that aims to extend quality TB care to patients seeking care in the private sector through developing effective partnerships with private health service.
Objectives
Develop an insight into private sector
Conduct mapping & prioritisation of private sector healthcare providers
Facilitate access to RNTCP-approved affordable TB diagnostics for patients seeking care in the private sector
Facilitate access to early, appropriate and free treatment and adherence support systems for patients seeking care in the private sector
Approach
The project sets up effective and sustainable structures called Patient Provider Support Agency (PPSA) which offers support to TB patients throughout the process
Activities
Mapping private health care providers and identifying champion providers
Following up and engaging private providers through visits and continuing medical education (CME)
Facilitating private sector notifications on the Nikshay national registry portal
Establishing linkages to quality-assured free diagnostics and treatment (FDCs) services under RNTCP
Supporting treatment adherence
Expected outcome
Increased number of TB patients approaching private providers getting notified and referred to the TB units of RNTCP
