TB Alert India’s strategy is guided by the principle of “Empower, Engage and Sustain”, focusing on building community-driven, scalable, and sustainable public health solutions.
Over time, the organization has evolved from implementing disease-specific interventions to developing integrated community-based public health platforms that address interconnected health challenges. Recognizing the strong linkages between communicable and non-communicable diseases, TB Alert India adopts an integrated approach addressing Tuberculosis (TB), Diabetes, Hypertension, Mental Health, and Chronic Respiratory Diseases, ensuring comprehensive and person-centred care at the community and primary health care levels.

The strategy is built around four interconnected pillars that enable sustainable and scalable impact:

Community Empowerment and Ownership

Engaging TB survivors, peer mentors, community champions and structures to lead awareness generation, stigma reduction, early symptom screening, and treatment adherence support. This approach strengthens trust, improves health-seeking behaviour, and promotes long-term community ownership of health interventions.

Implementation Model: These pillars support a structured continuum-of-care pathway, including community mapping, stakeholder training, symptom screening, risk stratification, referral and diagnostics, treatment initiation, adherence support, and follow-up.

This integrated approach ensures early identification, timely linkage to care, and continuous patient support, reducing missed diagnoses, delayed treatment, and treatment interruption.
Through this model, TB Alert India is building sustainable, community-owned health platforms that address TB alongside Diabetes, Hypertension, and Chronic Respiratory Diseases, contributing to stronger health systems and improved health outcomes in underserved communities.
